How the Analyst reads a game.
Every day, SportAnalyst runs a pipeline against real box-score and season-stat data from every covered game. The pipeline produces one analytical read per game: a preview before tip-off, and a recap after final. Every user reads the same Analyst — it's not generated per-user, and it's not a chatbot. It's one stored view, written once, served to everyone.
What it reads
The Analyst reads structured, verifiable data. For each game:
· Full box score (player stats, team stats, minutes, lineup).
· Season-to-date averages for both teams and the players who played.
· Per-sport comparison axes — defined by our per-sport chart adapter (pace and turnover margin for basketball, contact quality and pitch mix for baseball, shot quality and expected-goals for football).
· Momentum signals — pace changes, scoring runs, turnover streaks — computed from the play-by-play.
We publish the input data alongside the read. The numbers are verifiable. If a stat looks wrong to you, tell us — we fix the pipeline, not the prose.
How it writes
We use an AI language model to write the read, against a per-sport schema. The schema fixes the shape: preview reads always cover form + comparison + season-form range; recap reads always cover verdict + key factors + player grades + momentum + closing note. Same shape every night, in every sport, in your language.
Because the schema is fixed, the read is calm, not clever. No hot takes. No emoji. No "insane" or "unbelievable." The Analyst does not have a personality; it has a job.
Because each game is analysed once per day and stored, the read you see is the same read every other subscriber sees. This makes the analysis quotable, discussable, and consistent across languages. It also means the Analyst cannot be argued with in real time — if you want to explore further, the Analyst chat (ALL-ACCESS) uses the same stored data as its ground truth.
What it will never do
· No picks. No spreads, no over/unders, no "this is a play." We are not a sportsbook and never will be.
· No forecasts. We show season-form ranges — where a game sits if both teams played to their season averages. That is a look at form, not a call on tonight's result. Statistics, never forecasts.
· No fantasy calls. No start/sit, no waiver-wire, no fantasy scoring projections.
· No "For You" algorithm. You choose which sports, leagues, and teams you follow. We never hide a game from you or curate what you see behind a black box.
· No politics. Sport, not culture war.
