How to read momentum
Understand runs and turning points without mistaking movement for certainty.
Momentum describes how control of a game changes over time. It can be represented through real events such as scoring runs, possession outcomes or pressure sequences; it is not a mystical force.
Look for causes behind a swing. Changes in pace, turnovers, second chances and lineup combinations can explain why one side created a stronger stretch. A chart should use provider data and show gaps honestly.
A strong run describes the recent passage, not the future. Pair the timeline with the wider match context and data coverage before drawing a conclusion.
